Future Plans and Goals
Although the
PLC’s strategy is to focus on the capacity building of
village level community institutions, individuals and non
governmental voluntary organizations on issues related to
rights to drinking water and sanitation, it realizes the
need to further strengthen capacity building at not only
the local but also the regional, national and
international levels. Therefore it would from now try to
focus besides the socio-political situation, on matters
related to governance, finance, ecology, technical and
policies. This in turn would reflect within our planning
of goals and objectives for the next two years. The PLC
would thus:
-
Focus on
capacity building of community institutions, individuals
and non governmental voluntary organizations on issues
related to rights to drinking water and sanitation at
the local, regional, national and international level.
-
Adopt a
multilevel, integrated strategy which would focus on
training on one hand and on the other, carry out
intensive research and documentation to influence
policies and widen the knowledge base of individuals,
institutions, processes, programs in matters related to
governance, finance, ecology, technical and of course
socio-political.
-
Network with
advocacy and research groups for gathering inputs in
matters related to governance, finance, ecology and the
technical so as to build capacity at the local,
regional, national and international level.
